My Background
My name is Aftab Quraishi. I am currently based in Bangladesh. I started my career as a software engineer and worked in the software industry for more than 20 years. Most of the time I worked in top MNC software companies in Bangladesh which are headquartered in the US.
Pay was always good compared to any other job. But a lifelong career as an employee did not attract me, whether I would live in Bangladesh or move abroad. The pay is mostly according to the local market living standard. It’s possible to afford an upper-middle-class living standard, but it is difficult to develop financial security. Growth is only 5% to 10% per year, which makes it difficult to cope with the ever-increasing cost of living. Also, working as an employee is about a lifetime of working in a 9-to-5 job. If someone has a priority for a balanced life, working 8 hours per day would feel very frustrating.
It’s quite possible to build wealth through a software career if someone takes a path of innovation and entrepreneurship. But again, that requires deep passion, desperate dedication, and a very long time.
🔄 The Career Shift
I started to desperately look for an alternative. During August 2025, I got to know about Forex through a friend. Realizing the true potential of Forex, I decided to switch my career to Forex trading. I was very lucky to find a very good mentor, so I got the courage to jump into Forex trading full-time.
My Journey with Forex
I spent 2 months learning SMC concepts, 2 months backtesting the strategy (about 1000 trades in 8 months of past data), 2 months demo trading, and now it’s been 4 months of live trading in a 200K funding challenge.
Trading evolved over time, during all phases—backtesting, demo trading, and live trading. Strategy shaped over time. Initially, I took more trades, and gradually increased focus on high-quality setups. It’s still evolving because market conditions change every month. Experience is the key to mastering the market.
Trading Performance Metrics & Projections
With a $200K funded account, it is possible to make around $5K USD per month on an average with this performance while risking a very conservative 0.25% capital per trade.
With more experience in the live market (another 6 months to 1 year), it will be possible to risk 0.5% to 1% per trade. With time, the win rate is expected to grow to 40% to 50%, which may take a year or two.
